Daily Mantras for Self-Care

Daily Mantras for Self-Care

Daily Mantras for Self-Care

Self-care is one of the most important aspects of physical and mental health, and it doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. One of the best ways to practice self-care is with mantras. Mantras can be words, phrases, or sentences that focus your thoughts, relieve stress, or lift your mood.

You can include them in a daily meditation, or you can repeat them to yourself as you face obstacles throughout your day. As you repeat your mantra, you’ll start to truly believe it and embody it. Here are six daily mantras that you can add to your self-care practice:

I love myself.

Accepting and loving yourself can sometimes be difficult, but it’s an important step toward positive mental and spiritual health. Loving yourself the way you love your friends and family will help you realize that you deserve happiness just as much as they do. As you repeat this mantra, remind yourself of all your positive qualities, and remember that you’re unique.

I am worthy of things that bring me joy.

We often deprive ourselves of good things or feel guilty for indulging in what we love. It’s okay to want the best for yourself and to seek out what brings you joy. Whether it’s spending time with a good friend, sleeping in late, buying something nice for yourself, or anything else, you deserve the things that make you happy.

I deserve to take care of my mind and body.

If you’re constantly stressed about work, school, or family obligations, you might neglect your physical and mental health. However, even amidst all the stress, you deserve to treat your mind and body well.

I am important.

You are just as important as anyone else, and you deserve to treat yourself like you’re important. Your health and happiness matter, and your needs are valid. It’s easy to prioritize everyone and everything else above yourself, but this mantra will remind you that you’re important too.

I choose to be positive.

The stress and struggles that come your way might be out of your control, but your attitude isn’t. You can choose to be positive and to focus on the good things in your life. Remind yourself that positive self-talk is powerful and effective, and you can choose to focus on uplifting thoughts.

I am strong.

You have made it through every obstacle in your life so far, and you’ll continue to make it through. Even when you don’t feel strong, remind yourself of your strength. Sometimes, being strong involves practicing self-care, which helps you become healthy and focused enough to tackle whatever comes your way.

It’s best to choose one mantra at a time and focus on it for at least a week. Everyone has different values and priorities, so some mantras might not benefit you as much as others. Once you’ve tried out a few mantras, you’ll find one that really speaks to you. A good mantra helps you focus on the positive, but it also has the power to influence your actions. Your mantra should help you accept yourself, take care of yourself, and make positive choices that benefit your life.

Common Signs and Symptoms of Stress

Common Signs and Symptoms of Stress

If you’re questioning whether or not what you’re dealing with is stress, there’s a good chance that’s what it is. However, if you’re still not sure, there are several different signs that’ll help you confirm it. Look out for these emotional and physical symptoms to show up in your daily life.

Symptoms You May Experience

First of all, you‘ll want to take into account any emotional symptoms you have. Many of these resemble those of depression. These include moodiness, restlessness, and a feeling of being overwhelmed and completely out of control. Stress also manifests itself in feelings of loneliness and worthlessness that simply won’t go away. Besides these, a strong desire to avoid the company of others and difficulty focusing on tasks are present. You may also have suicidal thoughts, experience more anxiety than you normally would, and feel a lot of guilt.

If you’ve been getting a lot of headaches lately, stress could very well be the culprit. Insomnia and disruptive dreams go hand in hand with this condition, as well. Ringing in the ears, incredibly low energy, and uncomfortable chest pain are all undesirable symptoms of stress. Forgetfulness, an increased or decreased appetite, stomach problems, constipation, and nausea are also quite common. If you find that you’re experiencing several of these on a regular basis, your assumption that it’s stress is quite plausible.

Signs You Might See

As for the symptoms that are visible to the naked eye, there are a few that you’ll want to be paying close attention to, in order to help you figure out just what’s going on with you. You should be on the lookout for panic attacks that often manifest themselves through trembling lips, shaking hands, frequent blushing, or some sweating. You may also experience a dry mouth, sweaty hands, or any kind of sudden muscle spasm. Aside from these, you might break out in hives and get unexplained rashes or itchiness. A clenched jaw and grinding teeth will also let you know that something’s not right. These are all signs that you won’t be able to miss easily. If you were wondering all this time what’s behind them, now you have a better idea of what it could be.

Initially, recognizing the signs of stress might not be the most comforting thing. However, it’s important that you know what you’re dealing with in order to find the best way to treat it. As horrible as stress is, there’s one positive element to it. It’s easy to spot when you’re not looking for it, and this means it’ll be easy to treat, as well.

Some Home Remedies for Kids

Most children at some point in their life will be struck by a problem; this is a sad reality that cannot be avoided. Trying to find the best home remedies that are suitable for children is not always easy; the sensitive little bodies sometimes find that home remedies are not always agreeable. However, if you are careful and always work to ensure you are selective in the ingredient that you choose, you can typically find that it really is possible to use home remedies for children. A bit of well placed effort can produce fabulous results, but knowing which are the best for children is not always easy. We shall dive into some of the most common problems for children and give you a peek at the top remedies for them.

You probably know and realize if you send your child to school at some point they are likely to come home with lice. This is an epidemic that very few children are able to avoid. In order to really ensure you avoid this complication you would need to shave your child’s head and this is not something that most parents are quite eager to do. An affordable alternative to this problem is to instead use either Olive Oil or Mayonnaise to spread across the entire scalp and hair. This would serve to suffocate the lice providing you an extremely effective and affordable remedy.

Another common problem with children is splinters. After all, most parents spend days and weeks of their time asking children to stop playing with dangerous items, put their shoes on and so forth. If you have a splinter that is needing to be removed applying a bit of wood glue to the skin and allowing to dry is a simple and pain free way to get started. Now once the glue actually dries you should be able to slowly lift the glue away from the skin, taking with it the splinter that has been causing problems. This is much quicker, easier and nicer to do than digging around in the skin with a pair of tweezers.

One common crisis that strikes all homes at some point is a burn. Regardless of whether little Thomas walked across hot pavement, little Lucy touched the stove, or even little Martin stayed out in the sun too long. There are so many ways to get burned and kids have a knack for finding them all. In order to really ensure that you are getting the best relief from the burns it is necessary to look towards relief that is soothing. This commonly from the store comes in the form of a gel or lotion with aloe vera included. Rather than spending excessive amounts of money on lotions and gels, buying an actual aloe vera plant is a much better investment.

An alternative to aloe vera if you are out having a picnic or barbeque is mustard though. Both aloe and mustard are extremely effective in helping to eliminate the burning sensation that accompanies a burn and can make it much more comfortable to handle until it can be treated properly. Even better, both of these remedies are safe to use even on the youngest children and are able to easily survive in any household while causing virtually no allergic reactions.

Many children also develop toothaches as well. Of course, most children will wait to develop the toothache until the dentist is closed for the weekend also which means you generally have to wait at least a few days before you are able to actually do anything to protect yourself from the constant cries of pain. In order to relieve the pain your child is feeling and also hold onto your own sanity you can take a small cotton ball and soak it in vanilla extract. This would then be applied directly onto the sore area and allowed to remain for a while. Once this is done, it will typically provide you with a substantial improvement and allow you to function for a while until the dentist is able to see your child.

Activated Charcoal

Activated Charcoal

Numerous studies have noted that activated charcoal is carbon.  It is a charcoal that has been treated with oxygen with the purpose to open up millions of tiny pores in the middle of the carbon atoms.

The poison control centers always suggest the activated charcoal in treating the accidental poisonings, making it a beneficial supplement that must be kept in the home.  In particular, the activated charcoal is formed from organic materials like the wood pulp and then it is treated to further elevate its absorptive strengths.

It is believed that if activated charcoal is ingested, it largely binds with specific chemicals in the digestive tract which turns to prevent them from being absorbed into our system and causing harm.  Aside from that, activated this supplement is also applied, yet in far lesser doses than are suggested for poisoning, specifically as a remedy for digestive complaints like the intestinal gas (flatulence), diarrhea, and stomach ulcer pain.

There are also some benefits form taking activated charcoal like the fact that activated charcoal’s absorption abilities is able to prevent fats from entering the bloodstream, therefore lowering the cholesterol levels and lessening the danger of heart disease.  In addition, there are also some claims which hold that activated charcoal can rid the body of environmental toxins.  However, there is still little evidence to support such claims or for those functions.

In terms of its form, it is necessary to remember that activated charcoal usually comes in the form of pill and powder.  Many experts suggest that if you fit for the powder, just mix it with a tall glass of water and then drink it through a straw to keep away from staining your teeth.  Since there are instances in which the teeth and tough are blackened, it is best recommended if such case happens to quickly brush the teeth and rinse it.  It should then come right off.  In taking activated charcoal, it is as well important to note that you should avoid taking the activated charcoal with milk or other dairy products, for the reasons that those products may lessen the effectiveness of the activated charcoal.

This is also used for cats and dogs who have poisoning. I learned this while studying for my Natural Health Care for Pets course I am taking.

In the case of flatulence, it is right to blend two tablespoons activated charcoal powder into a large glass of water, and then drink through a straw thirty minutes before the meal.  Taking it by a 500 mg capsule after meals and every two hours as needed is also applicable.  It is just necessary to take extra care in ingesting more than 4,000 mg in any 24-hour period.

For further interest, one should note that since activated charcoal can hamper with the absorption or metabolism of various nutrients and medication, just take it for at least two hours after or before the other products.   And if a suspected poisoning happens, it is important to consult a poison control center expert, and not just somebody else, before taking the activated charcoal.  Don’t apply activated charcoal at the same time as syrup of ipecac, which is another form of home remedy for poisoning.  It is as well necessary to know that when this supplement is taken in large doses, it can cause black stools, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting.
